Job Carr Cabin

In conjunction with our study of Westward Expansion the Innovators visited the Job Carr Cabin, a museum of the founding of Tacoma. We learned about travel on the Oregon Trail, why Job Carr came to the area and chose the site for his cabin and pioneer life.
We then toured Old Town Tacoma and heard about the historical buildings before returning to the cabin to try on costumes, play with pioneer toys and even do a craft project. It was an interesting look at life well over a hundred years ago.
