Week of February 3
We had two artists from the Puget Sound Sumi Artists in University Place come to Seabury and work with the Stingrays and Serpents on the ancient art form of Sumi painting. The students learned how to mix the strong ink to make color variations and how to hold and use the bamboo brush to make bamboo, pussy willow, and Chinese characters. The artists allowed the students to add a seal to their pictures if they chose and mounted each student's picture onto tag board. The pictures are coming home today in the Friday Folder and will be ready for a 8x10 frame. The students did a fabulous job!
